March: The Illuminated Year from the Soil to the Spheres
Giclee Art prints- Unframed
The medieval Zodiac sign Aries.
Alongside the ram are medieval-style patterns using drawings of sea flora. These symbolise modern ecological efforts that take place during March, such as World Seagrass Day on the 1st. Seagrass is planted to protect small juvenile fish until they are large enough to swim in deeper waters. Also depicted is a crouching figure planting an apple tree. Wildflowers like sea thrift and sea rocket frame the image — species that help stabilise soil and prevent erosion. These efforts protect coastal ecosystems.
This print comes from a recent exhibition in collaboration with writer Amy Jeffs and artists Louise Boulter and Hebe George.
