The medieval labour of June.
Amy Jeffs describes the connotations of the reaper’s blade cutting the grass in the summer months — and the darker connotation of the blade too. I have illustrated the grass as little characters, having their heads chopped off.
This print comes from a recent exhibition in collaboration with writer Amy Jeffs and artists Louise Boulter and Hebe George.
Printed onto Hahnemühle Photorag. This paper produces bright colour reproduction and excellent detail. The paper has a smooth cotton feel with smooth colour gradients.
