July: The Illuminated Year from the Soil to the Spheres
Giclee Art prints- Unframed
The medieval zodiac Leo is burning the sky with fire.
To the right is a symbolic peasant working the land and holding the end of a scythe in his hand. The image as a whole has a fiery and scorched feel, which hints at the problems of global warming, which feels very apparent in this month of July. Hebes pond at home had completely dried out and the poor ducks were ‘swimming’ in mud. You can see them here seeking shelter and shade. A Selwood Bounds morris dancer is in the foreground as July is often a busy month for our Morris dance outs. Leo is ruled by the heart and the spleen. You can see the heart wilting in the heat
