The month of August brings order and precision. The threshing of the wheat as the warmth of summer fades.
This image depicts the labour of threshing. The season is fruitful, and there is work to be done. 'The wheat being separated from the chaff is a metaphor for the judgement of the virtuous and sinful' The calf is a nod towards the resurrection of Saint Germanus.
This print comes from a recent exhibition in collaboration with writer Amy Jeffs and artists Louise Boulter and Hebe George.
Printed onto Hahnemühle Photorag. This paper produces bright colour reproduction and excellent detail. The paper has a smooth cotton feel with smooth colour gradients.
